Design and performance of very low head water turbines using a surface vorticity model algorithm

چکیده

This study explores the numerical optimization of water turbine runner profile performance using a surface vorticity model algorithm. The is designed on laboratory scale and operates at net head 0.09 m, 400 rpm, flow rate 0.003 m3/s. initial design was optimized to minimize losses in hydrofoil. algorithm coded MATLAB software obtain optimal stagger angle that will be used design. Furthermore, validation performed computational fluid dynamics analysis ANSYS CFX determine performance. settings include reference pressure 1 atm, turbulence shear stress transport, inlet boundary conditions total static outlet conditions. reveals by optimizing design, efficiency increases approximately 2.6%. can applied optimize runner.
